LUOTO II climbing arch

The LUOTO II is a climbing arch that grows with your child. At two, they will climb it carefully, working out where to put their hands and feet. At four, they will flip it into a fort. At six, it becomes a reading nook, a puppet theatre, a goalpost.

It is designed by FitWood in Finland and built from FSC-certified birch plywood with aspen rungs — solid enough to last through siblings and years of daily use. No noise. No batteries. Just movement.

The II version improved on the original based on real customer feedback: narrower rung spacing for smaller climbers, a better-fitting cushion attachment, and optional wedges to lock it flat when you want a stable surface. The accessories — cushion, slide ramp, stool — are sold separately and expand what it can do as your child gets older.

Care

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Use mild soap if needed — wring the cloth well and dry immediately. Do not submerge or expose to standing water. Avoid harsh chemicals. Check and tighten screws monthly with the included hex key. Indoor use only. For spare parts, contact FitWood directly.
Why We Selected

I came across FitWood while looking for a climbing arch that would not look out of place in a Dutch living room. Most of what I found was either too plasticky, too large, or too obviously a toy.

The Luoto is different. The birch and aspen combination gives it a warmth that sits well next to real furniture. It is quiet in a room. And because children find new ways to use it as they grow, it does not get outgrown — it just changes role.
